Welcome, friends. I can see from the stats that people are still visiting this site.
Are you still interested in seeing events of this type? If so, please use the contact form to leave me comments.
What do you miss about Kayam? Who do you miss? What would you like to see more of in Portland?
I now have the space and time in my life to begin thinking about restarting this organization, or at least passing the reins to someone else.
Meanwhile, you can see the evidence of my other endeavors at shoshannasplace.weebly.com.
Q: What happened to Kayam?
A: Grad school, engagement, and new career, in that (chronological) order. I (Shoshanna) have found myself going through some rapid changes and movements between stages of life. Although I still believe in what Kayam was doing, for now, it is not in my power to be the main mover of that kind of community. I have no current plans to restart the group.
For a peek into where all my creative energy is going these days, see:

Beit Kayam is dead, long live Kayam... 3/14/10
The end of this month will mark the end of Beit Kayam...for now. Due to a host of factors, including poverty, difficult landlords, new relationships, and life in general, we are moving on.
We are sad.
Kayam is not done, though. Shoshanna avows that she will be running potlucks and other good times this summer, just as soon as grad school is over.
You can still contact us at kayam.pdx@gmail.com or shoshanna.krall@gmail.com.
The website remains up, including the gallery of past events, and useful links. Check them out! Borrow our ideas!
We will be back...
We are tired.
So tired. And busy, so busy.
Have you been wondering what happened to all of us? Well, Shoshanna is working full time and in graduate school full time at the same time, Claire has started a PhD., Diana is chasing Chabad preschoolers, Levi's spinning on his head as much as possible and making rad hats, and that's not to mention our new friend Colin- who lives in the dining room.
Angel is the only one who gets to laze. We wish we were dogs.
But seriously, none of us have had the energy or time to plan much. We are hoping to do more come summer.
Hey, if you want to hold an event, our house is still open! Drop us a line.
